• Is there a place to keep my horse?

Yes, TVCC has a 24 stall barn with several turnouts, as well as, a lighted arena for team members' use.

• How often does the team practice?

The practice schedule is subject to change as needed to best fit the needs of the students. Generally speaking timed event practice is held Monday and Wednesday at the TVCC Arena. Rough Stock practice is held Tuesdays at Stace Smith's, Smith Prorodeo. Classes here at TVCC meet Monday - Thursday, which allows Friday - Sunday to rodeo.

• Are cattle provided for practice?

Yes, TVCC provides practice cattle for the rodeo team

• How is the "team" chosen?

A "team" comprised of 6 men and 4 women accumulating points for the college is chosen by the coach for each rodeo. 

• Can I still rodeo if not chosen to be on the team?

Yes, every current member of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, in good standing, is eligible to participate in regional rodeos. Individual points earned will count towards year-end standings for regional awards as well as qualifying for the College National Finals Rodeo. Being "on" the team means that the points you earn will count towards the team standings, as well as individual points.

• How do you qualify for the College National Finals?

Two Ways:
1. The top 3 competitors in each event at the end of the season qualify for the CNFR.
2. The top 2 teams in each region qualify for the CNFR.

• Does TVCC offer travel money?

Yes, travel money is offered to the 10 members on the team for each rodeo, as well as to the top male and female point earners from each rodeo. Factors in determining "team" choices are performances at precious rodeos. Human error is taken into consideration, thus top point earners from each rodeo are also awarded travel money.

• Trinity Valley Community College is ranked in the top 10% of Community Colleges in the United States.

• Classes at TVCC - Athens meet Monday - Thursday.
