The Region XIV Volleyball Tournament is next up for the Lady Cardinals.

The seventh-ranked Lady Cardinals wrapped up the regular season over the weekend, scoring a 3-0 win Friday at Coastal Bend and a 3-1 decision Saturday at Victoria. The two wins boosted their season record to 27-5.

The Lady Cardinals finished tied for second with Blinn in conference play with a 13-3 mark. Blinn had a tiebreaker edge on the Lady Cardinals, who will be the No. 3 seed.

The regional tournament begins Friday at Lee College in Baytown. Only the champion of the eight-team, single-elimination event earns an automatic berth to the NJCAA tournament Nov. 16-18 in Hutchinson, Kan.

By virtue of their No. 3 seed, the Lady Cardinals receive a bye in the first round. They will play the Wharton-Lee winner at 6 p.m. Friday. A win would move them into the semifinals Saturday at 3 p.m. against Blinn.

The championship match is scheduled Sunday at 1 p.m.
