The 16-team 2022 NJCAA DI Volleyball Championship Tournament begins today at the West Plains Civic Center in West Plains, Mo. The seventh-seeded Lady Cardinals (30-8) are scheduled to play at 11 a.m. against 10th-seeded New Mexico Military Institute (25-8).
The winner of the match advances to the Elite Eight later today at 5:30 p.m. to face the Indian Hills-Monroe winner. Indian Hills is the No. 2 seed and Monroe is No. 15.
Making their second tournament appearance and first as the Region XIV champion, the Lady Cardinals bring an eight-game winning streak into the event. All eight wins were 3-0 sweeps, giving them 19 on the season.
NMMI is making its eighth trip to the national tournament since 2013. In 2017, the Lady Broncos finished third.
In the Lady Cardinals' only other tournament appearance in 2018, they finished fifth as an at-large selection. They went 3-1.
