The Lady Cardinals are headed to the Region XIV Soccer Tournament for the first time in the third year of the program.

The Lady Cardinals punched the historic ticket Friday afternoon in The Pit, rolling to a 9-0 win against Northeast Texas Community College.

The win also made school history for wins in a season (3) and goals in a game (9).

The regional tournament is scheduled to begin Friday. The Lady Cardinals are scheduled to play at either Jacksonville College or Blinn College, depending on the outcome of Tuesday's match between Jacksonville and Angelina.

Scoring goals for the Lady Cardinals against Northeast Texas were Lily Taira (2), Cailey Carillo (2), Yasmin Orantes, Kristina Cromwell, Lezmailin Hernandez and Julia Moreira.
