Less than a week after their male counterparts recorded the first official win in program history, the Lady Cardinal soccer team was in a history-making mood Tuesday. The Lady Cardinals also recorded their first-ever win, going on the road to nab a 3-2 win against North Lake.

"I am very excited and proud for the ladies," said third-year coach Antonio Ledesma. "They have shown a lot of perseverance and commitment to make our program successful. This is a start."

Cailey Carrillo scored the Lady Cardinals' first goal of the match. Lezmailin Hernandez added two more to seal the win.

The Lady Cardinals have a week off to celebrate the historic night in Irving. Their next action is scheduled Friday, Sept. 1, when they travel to Brownsville to play Southmost College in a 5 p.m. start.  The men's game follows.
