The 12th-ranked Lady Cardinals outscored Tyler 47-28 in the second half Wednesday night at Cardinal Gym to pull away for an 83-56 Region XIV Conference victory.
The win moved the Lady Cardinals, who have won four straight, to 17-5 on the season and 7-3 in conference. Tyler dropped to 13-11 and 4-6 marks.
The Lady Cardinals have a huge game at home Saturday against conference-leading Angelina (17-7, 9-1). Game time is 2 p.m. Angelina was an 82-78 winner against the Lady Cardinals in the first meeting last month in Lufkin.
Emani Jenkins led the Lady Cardinals with 25 points, including five three-pointers.
Breanna Baxter, celebrating her birthday, twined 16 points.
April Edwards and Kierra Sanderlin just missed double digits with nine points each.
The Lady Cardinals led 20-10 after one quarter and were up 36-28 at the half.
