BIG FINISH: No. 5  Lady Cardinals score 52 points in second half

Using a 52-point second half, the fifth-ranked Lady Cardinals took care of Angelina College in 81-62 fashion Saturday afternoon in Lufkin.

The Lady Cardinals broke open a 29-29 halftime deadlock with the offensive outburst in the second half. They outscored Angelina 22-12 in the third quarter and 30-21 in the fourth.

The win improved the Lady Cardinals to 24-2 on the year and 11-1 in Region XIV Conference. Angelina slipped to 15-10 and 8-5.

Kaila Kelley paced the Lady Cardinals with 20 points. Lafaedria Green had 14 and Abby Cater 10.

Destinee McDowell had 10 rebounds for the Lady Cardinals.

The Lady Cardinals are scheduled to play Panola at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Carthage and be at home Saturday against Tyler at 2 p.m.
