The Lady Cardinals lived up to their No. 1 ranking over the weekend in the annual WNIT out west at Midland College, posting a 3-0 record to stay perfect on the season at 7-0.

The Lady Cardinals posted wins against Odessa (60-47), Midland (85-43) and South Plains (58-41).

The Lady Cardinals are scheduled to be at home Friday and Saturday this week in the Budke/Serna Thanksgiving Classic. They play Hill at 4 p.m. Friday and No. 2 Northwest Florida State at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Here are the leading scorers for the Lady Cardinals in WNIT games:

ODESSA – Destinee McDowell, 22; Briana Peguero, 14.

McDowell also had 11 rebounds.

Peguero had four three-pointers.

MIDLAND – Peguero, 22; Abby Cater 12; Kaila Kelley, 12; Emani Jenkins, 10.

The Lady Cardinals hit nine three-pointers, led by Peguero with three.

SOUTH PLAINS – Mimi McCollister, 15; Abby Cater, 14.

The Lady Cardinals outscored South Plains 19-8 in the fourth quarter.
