BRING ON THE HOLIDAYS: Lady Cards 10-1 at the break

The No. 2-ranked Trinity Valley Community College Lady Cards head home for the holidays with 10-1 record after a hard-earned 64-62 win Saturday afternoon against Angelina College in Lufkin.

After trailing 35-34 at the half, the Lady Cards held Angelina to 10 points in the third quarter en route to improving to 4-0 in Region XIV Conference play.

The Lady Cards are scheduled to return to action Friday, Jan. 1 against Wabash Valley in the Arkansas Baptist College Cancer Classic in Little Rock, Ark. They play Arkansas Baptist on Saturday, Jan. 2.

Christalah Lyons poured in 18 points to lead the Lady Cards against Angelina.

Troi Swain and Maya Single also finished in double figures with 14 and 10, respectively. Singleton also had 11 rebounds.

Angelina fell to 8-6 and 2-4 records.

The two teams will meet again at Cardinal Gym on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
