Now in her fourth season as Cardinal head softball coach, Maria Winn-Ratliff has hit her share of milestones. She reached another one in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday on the road against Navarro, hitting career win no. 850 in a 3-1 victory.

The Cardinals went on to start the march to no. 900 in the second game, holding on for an 8-7 win in nine innings.

Sunday, the fifth-ranked Cardinals fell twice to No. 4 McLennan, losing 5-2 and 8-2.

The Cardinals are 45-7 on the season and 18-2 in Region XIV Conference.

The Cardinals are one win shy of setting a school record for most wins in a season.
