IT'S A SPLIT: Cardinals take Game 1, 2-0

Alessandra Borjas pitched a complete-game one-hitter in Game 1 of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon to lift the 15th-ranked Lady Cardinals to a 2-0 win against Bossier Parish in Region XIV Conference softball action in Bossier City, LA.

The Cardinals had to settle for a split of the twinbill, falling 8-2 in the second game.

The split left the Cardinals 28-10 on the season and 7-1 in conference. Bossier Parish is 24-8-1 and 8-2.

The Cardinals are scheduled to be back in action again on the road Friday to face Tyler (23-13, 4-4). Action starts at 1 p.m.

GAME 1

TVCC 2, Bossier Parish 0

The Cardinals had just four hits and three belonged to Destiny Menchaca. She went 3-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBI. Alizah Fields had the only hit for the Cardinals.

The Cardinals scored two in the top of the sixth to secure the win.

GAME 2

Bossier Parish 8, TVCC 2

Bossier Parish scored all the runs it would need in the first inning, putting up a four spot.

The Cardinals had five hits, led by Addison Wittram's 2-for-2 performance.

Karli Glaze had a double for the Cardinals.

Nicole Stuhr, who worked three innings, absorbed the loss in the circle. Miranda Pena finished the game.
