BOUNCE BACK: No. 9 Cardinals roll past Cisco, 37-3

The ninth-ranked Cardinals bounced back from their first loss of the season with an impressive 37-3 win against unbeaten Cisco College Saturday night at Bruce Field.

The Cardinals raised their season record to 3-1 with the win. They are 1-1 in SWJCFC action. Cisco fell to 2-1 and 1-1 marks.

The Cardinals have this week off and are scheduled to return to action Saturday, Oct. 7, hitting the road for Brenham to face Blinn College in a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Cardinal quarterback Darion Peace paced an offense producing 474 yards. Peace completed 21-of-27 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns. He also was the leading rusher with 63 yards on eight attempts.

Hymond Drinkard gave the Cardinals 55 rushing yards on eight carries.

Peaced tossed two touchdown tosses to Dylan Robinson and one to Jared Jackson and Rayshawn Glover.

McCoy Casey led another quality defensive performance with 11 tackles, including two for losses. Casey also had five quarterback hurries and an interception.

Quardale Patt had nine stops and Kobe Kendrick eight. Patt also picked off a pass.

The Cardinal defense had four sacks, getting one each from Noah Flemmings, Christian Scharrer, Kendrick and Casey.
