2-FOR-2: No. 7 Cardinals stay unbeaten

The seventh-ranked Cardinals went to 2 -0 on the season Friday afternoon in Colorado Springs, Co., scoring a 38-26 win against Air Force Prep.

The Cardinals used a balanced offensive attack, rushing for 240 yards and adding 210 through the air, to close out non-conference action. They are scheduled to open SWJCFC play Saturday at home against 1-1 Tyler. Action at Bruce Field begins at 7 p.m.

The Cardinals led 14-0 after one quarter and were up 24-14 at halftime.

Quarterbacks Matthew Duncan and Diego Tello teamed up to lead the Cardinal offense. Duncan completed 6-of-11 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown and Diego Tello was 40-of-11 for 90 yards and a touchdown. Duncan also ran for a touchdown.

The Cardinal ground game was led by Clarence Dalton, who ran for 64 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Quincy Thompson also ran the ball 11 times, picking up 62 yards. Hymond Drinkard ad 49 yards on six carries.

Jemyri Davis caught one pass, a 60-yarder for a touchdown. RayShawn Glover also caught a touchdown pass.

Ty Powers had a 45-yard field goal for the Cardinals and punter James Allen averaged 53 yards on three punts.

Defensively, Kobe Kendrick, McCoy Casey and Cameron Blaylock each had 10 tackles. Joe Sniffin had nine.
