A NEW LOOK: CSN to produce Cardinal football home games

Cardinal football home games will have a new look online this season.

Now in its 15th year, the Cardinal Sports Network has announced plans to produce all five home games on the 2023 schedule, including the season opener against Snow College at Tiger Stadium in Malakoff on Thursday, Aug. 24.

"We are very excited to make this announcement," said Myles Pennington, director of Media Support Services at the college. "It has long been a goal of ours to add football to our lineup and we are thankful to have the support of the board and administration to make it a reality."

Though the look of webcasts will be different, the voices behind the microphones will not. Joey Snowden and Marcus Dowell, who have called the last three seasons of Cardinal football for SHN Sports, will continue in those roles with Snowden handling the play-by-play. They will be joined by CSN veteran Benny Rogers, who will serve as host of the webcast and provide commentary.

Other members of the CSN football team are Branson Blake (director), David May (broadcast graphics), Joseph Brewer (replay/ad coordinator) and camera operators Robert Janeway, Micah Collard, Casey Riley and Robert Bowen. Pennington will produce the webcasts.

After the season opener, home games scheduled at Bruce Field are Sep. 16 vs. Tyler, Sept. 23 vs. Cisco; Oct. 14 vs. Navarro and Nov. 4 vs. NEO.

Home games will be available online on the college's YouTube channel and via links on social media.

SHN sports is scheduled to provide coverage of two of the Cardinals' road games – Oct. 7 at Blinn and Oct. 21 at Kilgore.
