Years at HCJC/TVCC: 1968-70

Thomas was a powerhouse player on the Cardinals basketball team from 1968-1970 and later a force for the American Basketball Association’s Kentucky Colonels.  By the time he left HCJC, Thomas would hold four college records – Career  Scoring; Rebounds In A Game (41); Rebounds In A Season  (741) and Rebounds In A Career (1,222).
  Thomas led the nation in rebounding his sophomore year at HCJC. While he wore the red and white, the Cardinals won a conference championship in 1969. The team had a 52-10 record during his career.
  After leaving HCJC, Thomas went back to his home state of Kentucky, attending the University of Louisville. He played for two years, and then was drafted into the ABA, where he had a four-year career with the Kentucky Colonels.
