A trip to the land of Blue Bell was a sweet one for the fifth-ranked Lady Cardinals.
The Lady Cardinals went 4-0 in tournament action at Blinn College in Brenham, including wins against third-ranked Iowa Western and 12th-ranked Hill on Saturday.
Friday, the Lady Cardinals posted wins against North Central Texas and Temple.
Against Iowa Western, the Lady Cardinals jumped out to a 2-0 lead, winning the first two sets (28-26, 25-22). Iowa Western bounced back to win the next two sets, forcing a fifth, which the Lady Cardinals held on to win 15-13.
The Lady Cardinals completed the perfect weekend in 3-0 fashion against Hill (25-21, 25-22, 25-23).
The Lady Cardinals improved to 8-1 with the tournament sweep.
Next up for Coach Aleah Hayes' squad is the North Central Texas tournament Friday and Saturday in Gainesville.
