13-0: Lady Cards perfect at holiday break

A 60-point second half lifted the No. 3 Lady Cards to a 97-86 come-from-behind road win against Blinn in Region XIV Conference action Wednesday night.

The Lady Cards, who are 13-0 overall and 3-0 in conference at the holiday break, needed the big second half to stay unbeaten. They trailed 46-37 at the half and were down as much as 15 in the third quarter. The Lady Cards took the lead 78-77 early in the fourth quarter and closed the game on a 12-5 run.

Taiyanna Jackson led the Lady Cards with 26 points.

She was joined in double figures by Curtessia Dean with 18, Asia Strong and Kaye Clark 15 each and Mekayla Furman 12.

Tiya Douglas and Solmilena Herrera rounded out the Lady Card scoring with six and five, respectively.

Blinn fell to 10-3 and 1-2.

The Lady Cards are scheduled to return to action Jan. 1-2 in the Bossier Parish Classic. They play Copiah-Lincoln and New Mexico.
