Miles Koehler is in his first season as a coaching assistant on the Cardinal basketball staff.
He is no stranger to Athens and Cardinal Gym, having graduated from Athens High School. He was a four-year letterman for the Hornet basketball team, earning district MVP and all-region honors during a 2,000-point varsity career, which included district championships.
Koehler accepted a collegiate scholarship to attend Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kan. There, he received his bachelor's degree in sports management.
Upon transferring to Howard Payne University, he became a starter for the Yellowjackets. Playing in 45 games, Koehler scored 304 points and had 30 steals. He was named academic all-conference both seasons.
Koehler graduated from Howard Payne with a master's degree in business.
