The Cardinals suffered an 83-73 Region XIV Conference loss to Angelina College Saturday afternoon in Lufkin.
In the loss, Dashawn Davis put on a scoring exhibition for the Cardinals, pouring in 33 points. Davis was 12-of-24 from the floor and 9-of-11 from the free throw line and was the Cardinals' lone double-digit scorer.
The Cardinals were up 40-35 at the half. Angelina came alive in the second half, outscoring the Cardinals 48-33.
Michell Serialle, Anderson Mirambeaux and Kennedy Milton finished with eight points each for the Cardinals. Joe Thompson netted seven.
The Cardinals were 1-of-14 from three-point range and 14-of-26 from the free throw line.
The loss dropped the Cardinals to 11-6 on the season and 5-2 in conference. Angelina upped its records to 10-8 and 5-2.
