CLASSIC SWEEP: Cardinals soar to pair of wins

The Cardinals snapped a two-game losing streak in a big way in the TVCC Classic at Cardinal Gym over the weekend.

The Cardinals rolled to a pair of wins, routing the Houston Cavaliers, 106-54, and Tribulation Prep, 104-56.

The wins raised the Cardinals' season record to 4-2.

Against the Cavaliers, the Cardinals raced out to a 69-43 halftime lead.

Dashawn Davis paced the Cardinals with 27 points. Joe Thompson added 21 and Camry Dennis 19, including four three-pointers. Gavion Singleton netted 12 and Anderson Mirambeaux finished with 10.

The Cardinals shut down Tribulation Prep in the first half, leading 50-17 at the intermission.

Tydan Archibald, Mitchell Serialle and Davis scored 17 points each to pace the win. Archibald had five three-pointers.

Also scoring in double figures were Thompson with 12, Dennis 11 and Vladmir Purtskhvanidze 10.

Next up for the Cardinals is the Region XIV Conference opener Saturday on the road against Coastal Bend. Game time is 2 p.m.
