FAST FINISH: No. 20 Cardinals start, finish strong

A fast start and furious finish lifted the 20th-ranked Cardinals to a 75-56 win against Paris in a Region XIV Conference contest Wednesday night at Cardinal Gym.

The Cardinals raced out to an 18-2 lead and were up 36-22 at the half before Paris came surging back. The Dragons took a 43-42 with just over 14 minutes left in the game, prompting the Cardinals to put the foot on the pedal again and closing the game with a 35-13 scoring edge.

With the win, the Cardinals upped their season record to 19-5 on the season and 8-4 in conference. Paris slipped to 11-12 and 2-10.

Tyson Jolly tossed in 20 points to lead the Cardinals. Jairus Roberson had 18, including five of the Cardinals' nine three-pointers.

David Nickelberry and Terry "TJ" Collins also scored in double figures with 14 and 13, respectively.

In their last 21 games against Paris, the Cardinals are 14-7.

The Cardinals have Saturday off and are scheduled to return to action at home next Wednesday against Kilgore.
