BACK ON TRACK: Cardinals snap three-game skid

The 22nd-ranked Cardinals snapped a three-game losing streak Saturday afternoon with a ninth straight win against 19th-ranked Navarro. The Cardinals won 82-76 in a game played at the Wolens Center in Corsicana.

The win improved the Cardinals to 18-5 on the year and 7-4 in Region XIV Conference. Navarro slipped to 18-4 and 8-3.

The Cardinals are scheduled to return to action at home Wednesday against Paris (11-11, 2-9). Action begins at 7:30 p.m. after a 5:30 women's game.

Tyson Jolly led the Cardinals with a double-double. He had 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Also scoring in double figures for the Cardinals were Marquan Williams with 14 and David Nickelberry 10. Bruce "BJ" Simmons finished with nine.

The Cardinals led 34-28 at the half. They built a 16-point lead in the second half and then held off the Bulldogs.

The win marked the 70th for Guy Furr in his third season as Cardinal head coach. He is now 70-16.
