BOUNCE BACK: No. 10 Cardinals turn back Lee, 78-68

The 10th-ranked Cardinals pulled away in the closing minutes Monday night at Cardinal Gym to score a 78-68 win against Lee College in a Region XIV Conference contest.

The win improved the Cardinals to 14-2 overall and 3-1 in conference. Lee fell to 8-8 and 1-4.

The Cardinals are scheduled to return to action Wednesday on the road against Blinn. Game time in Brenham is 7:30 p.m.

The Cardinals, coming off an 86-85 roard loss to Lamar State-PA, were led by Tyson Jolly with 23 points. Jolly scored 15 in the first half to help the Cardinals to a 40-37 halftime lead.

Jairus Roberson had 13 points, including four three-pointers. David Nickelberry and Bruce "BJ" Simmons had 10 each. Simmons had a pair of three-pointers.

Stefon Fisher added eight for the Cardinals and Vladmir Purtskhvanidze had six.

The Cardinals are scheduled to return home Saturday against Angelina. Game time is 4 p.m. after a 2 p.m. contest between the Lady Cards and Kilgore.
