The 2024 Cardinal football schedule has been released.
The slate of nine games is scheduled to kick off Saturday, Aug. 24 when the Cardinals host Independence Community College (Kan.) in a 7 p.m. start at Bruce Field.
It will be over a month before the Cardinals are at home again. After uncommon back-to-back open dates, they have road games scheduled at Tyler and Cisco. They finally return to home turf Friday, Sept. 27, hosting Air Force in a 6:30 p.m. start.
Homecoming and Family Day celebrations are being combined this year. The busy Saturday is on tap Oct. 26 with New Mexico Military Institute in town for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
In another rarity, a third open date, the Cardinals are scheduled to have the last week of the regular season off to get ready for the SWJCFC semifinals Saturday, Nov. 16.
The Cardinals went 7-3 last year and were 5-2 in conference, finishing second.
